Cattle, you see, have a propensity towards frequent belching (along with other, even less ladylike habits we won't mention). Unfortunately, their habits aren't merely uncouth – the methane gases expelled by cattle account for a shocking 4% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the Earth's environment.
But it looks like a new pill that cuts down on cow burping could help save our planet. The plant-based pill, called a bolus, traps some of the energy from the methane gas. Rather than polluting the environment, the gas can boost the cow's metabolism, helping to produce more milk – a win-win situation (not to mention a major improvement in bovine etiquette).
