At a newsstand in Aberdeen, Scotland, a few things have gone missing lately. The shop owner knows who the culprit is – but there's nothing the cops could do to catch this criminal. If they tried to nab him, he'd only fly away.
The shoplifter isn't just some juvenile delinquent, you see – it's a seagull with a curious fondness for cheese Doritos.
Last month, the store clerk was stunned when the gull wandered into the shop, grabbed a packet of Doritos from the shelf, and darted away. Once he'd left the store, he ripped open the packet with his beak and shared the tasty snack with the rest of his flock.
The gull, who's been nicknamed Sam, seems to be truly hooked on the snacks – since his first robbery, he's stopped back in regularly to nab more Doritos to share with his feathered friends.
Luckily for Sam, the amused locals have started chipping in to cover the price of his thefts, so it looks like this shoplifting seagull will remain free to satisfy his munchies anytime he gets the urge.
